What airport do I fly into?

Please book your flights into Keflavík International Airport (KEF).
KEF stands for Keflavík, which is located approximately 30 minutes south of Reykjavík.

🌍 Pre-Retreat Option: Golden Circle Adventure

If you would like to participate in the guided Golden Circle tour on July 16, we recommend:

  • Fly the evening of July 14

  • Arrive the morning of July 15

Most international flights arrive in the morning, giving you a full day on July 15 to gently recover from jet lag. This is a wonderful opportunity to:

  • Walk around Reykjavík

  • Go for a swim

  • Rest and acclimate

We will gather in Reykjavík on July 15 at 4:00 pm for a visit to Sky Lagoon (price not included).

✨ Colleen will help coordinate the Golden Circle tour for those who wish to join.

📅 Key Dates & Schedule

July 15

  • Arrival day for those doing the Golden Circle

  • Free time to explore Reykjavík

  • 4:00 pm: Sky Lagoon visit

July 16

  • Optional Golden Circle guided tour

July 17 — Retreat Begins

  • 9:00 am pick-up from Reykjavík city center

  • We depart for the beach where our horses will be waiting for us to begin our riding journey. We will be stopping in Borganese at an awesome horse store to get your last minute items.

  • Lunch stop along the way in Borganese (OYO – On Your Own)

July 24 — Retreat Concludes

  • Morning horse bonding session

  • Depart for the Blue Lagoon

    • Arrival around 10:00 am

    • Departure around 12:30 pm

  • Continue on to Keflavík International Airport

🚍 Transportation Options

Airport Transfers (KEF ↔ Reykjavík)

A reliable shuttle service runs between Keflavík International Airport and most Reykjavík hotels and guesthouses.

If your hotel is not listed, please contact your accommodation directly—they can help identify the nearest shuttle drop-off location.

✈️ Departure Information

After the retreat:

  • You may choose to stay an extra day in Reykjavík or

  • Join us for the Blue Lagoon on the way to the airport

    • Shuttle from Reykjavík to Blue Lagoon via Oli:  $50

We will return to Keflavík International Airport on July 24, with a stop at the Blue Lagoon along the way—a perfect final soak before heading home.

🕓 Please schedule your departing flight for after 4:00 pm on July 24.

At Keflavík Airport, we recommend arriving 2–3 hours before your flight.

Located on the north side of Tjörnin Lake, right in the historic city center.

👉 We strongly recommend staying within a short, easy walk of City Hall, as you will be carrying your luggage to the pick-up point.

  • Iceland Parliament Hotel
    Stylish mid-range hotel near Parliament Square and Tjörnin. Very convenient location.

  • Kvosin Downtown Hotel
    Boutique hotel with spacious rooms and suites. Great for room sharing and extra comfort.

  • Reykjavík Treasure B&B
    Small, charming B&B — one of the closest lodging options to City Hall.

👍 Stylish, Central Hotels (Still Walkable with Bags)

Beautiful options, slightly farther but still very reasonable

  • Reykjavik Konsulat Hotel
    Boutique-style hotel in a historic building near the harbor.

  • Hotel Borg
    Iconic Art-Deco hotel on Austurvöllur Square, close to City Hall.

  • Apotek Hotel
    Stylish, well-reviewed hotel right in the downtown core.

  • Exeter Hotel
    Cozy boutique hotel near the Old Harbor; still walkable, just a bit longer.

🏙️ Comfortable Mid-Range / Budget (Good Walkability)

  • City Center Hotel Reykjavik
    Simple, friendly, and well-located — an easy walk to City Hall.

🏠 Airbnb & Apartment Stays (Highly Recommended)

Yes — there are excellent Airbnbs very close to City Hall.

Best areas to search:

  • Reykjavík 101

  • Tjörnin / City Center

  • Miðborg

  • Aðalstræti or Lækjargata

Ideal Airbnb types:

  • Studios or 1-bedroom apartments near Tjörnin

  • Ground-floor units or buildings with elevators

  • Listings that clearly say “City Center” or “Old Town”

This area is beautiful, calm, and central — the perfect place to begin and end your Iceland journey.

🤍 Room Sharing Option

💳 Payment Policy

To secure your spot on a retreat, a non-refundable deposit is required:

  • $1,000 for international retreats

Single room reservations may require an additional $200 deposit.
Please note that single rooms are limited (only 2 available) and cannot be held without a deposit.

Payment Deadlines

  • Full payment is due 90 days prior to the retreat

  • If payment is not received by the deadline, your reservation may be released

  • For bookings made within 90 days of the retreat, payment in full is required at registration

Payment Options

  • Avoid fees by paying via check or Zelle

  • Payments via PayPal or Stripe incur a 4% processing fee

📋 Cancellation Policy

  • 91+ days before the retreat:
    Refund of payments minus your deposit

  • 90 days or fewer before the retreat:
    Payments are non-refundable

Women’s Quest reserves the right to cancel retreats with insufficient participation. In such cases, all retreat payments will be refunded. However, Women’s Quest is not responsible for personal expenses such as airline tickets or travel costs related to schedule changes or cancellations.

✈️ Travel Insurance (Strongly Recommended)

We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your investment in case unforeseen circumstances prevent you from attending or completing the retreat.

Travel insurance is especially important if you:

  • Need to cancel due to illness or injury

  • Require medical care during the retreat

  • Experience trip interruptions or delays

We suggest choosing a policy that includes:

  • Trip cancellation & interruption

  • Medical expenses

  • Evacuation coverage

For maximum flexibility, consider a “Cancel For Any Reason” (CFAR) policy. While more expensive, it offers the greatest peace of mind.
