Welcome to the Iceland Connection Adventure Retreat!

“Experience the enchantment of Iceland with 4 days of riding across the Icelandic countryside plus gentle horse connection and equine-assisted coaching, followed by 3 days of awe-inspiring adventures: hiking to waterfalls, soaking in warm rivers and hot springs, swimming in pristine pools, and kayaking – all while finding your inner zen with yoga alongside a herd of Icelandic horses.”

What to Expect 

4 days of incredible horse riding each day plus a unique opportunity to connect with yourself, nature and your horses on a deep level. Plus 3 days of hiking the Icelandic countryside, kayaking, and soaking in hot springs! Led by Colleen Cannon and special guests.

Highlights:

  • 5 nights lodging at  Breiðabólsstaður farm with healthy, organic food and 4 days of guided horseback rides plus HORSE CONNECTION AND AWARENESS, Equine Assisted FUN! 
  • 2 nights at Vatnsholt guesthouse with hiking, kayaking, waterfalls and more. 
  • Pre-Retreat to get over jet lag: In Reykjavik, July 6th Sky Lagoon Hot Spring experience  and shopping.   www.kirs.is. Arndís Jóhannsdóttir, is the owner of this magnificent hidden jewel in Reykjavik. This is a co-op of 11 female artists which handmade amazing local arts and crafts
  • Daily relaxation practices including yoga for centered riding, meditation, and Qigong, designed to relax and empower
  • Hike to Reykjadalur Hot springs thermal river and soak in the HOT RIVER!
  • Hiking Glymur, the second highest waterfall in Iceland
  • Hike the Skogafoss Waterfall and FIMMVÖRÐUHÁLS hike – one of Iceland’s most iconic hikes passing up to 26 waterfalls 
  • Walk behind the waterfall – Seljalandsfoss Iceland  
  • Incredible lobster dinner at a quaint little restaurant on the beach – Fjorubordid Stokkseyri 
  • 2 hour kayak adventure exploring the small winding tributaries in the wetlands
  • Krauma Hot Spring and Spa which is next to our guesthouse for day or night hot springs *extra fee
  • ⁠Exploring the HESPA wool shop, where our friend and artist GUÐRÚN BJARNADOTTIR will introduce us to the ancient Icelandic tradition of dyeing wool using plants 
  • Visit the highest-flow hot spring Europe: Deildartunguhver
  • Tour of Reykholt where we will visit Borgarfjörður, which is a museum, rich in the culture and history of the sagas, music, geology, and the life story of Snorri Sturluson that lived in the valley near our farm
  • An evening of sound meditation
  • Float hot spring experience with Unnar the creator of THE FLOAT!
  • Amazing locally sourced meals and cooking class with Beta, our culinary expert for the week at Breiðabólsstaður farm. All food will be made with local Icelandic ingredients and medicinal herbs. Beta prepares delicious food at every meal with sack lunches for our horse rides. She will even teach us how to bake the BEST BREAD ON EARTH!
  • Transportation during the week. Pick up in Reykjavik, and drop off in Selfoss

Included in the Price:

5 days at the at the charming Breiðabólsstaður farm guesthouse with breathtaking views, healthy food and horses right out your window.

2 days at Vatnsholt guesthouse:  Vatnsholt Guesthouse is owned by husband and wife Jóhann Helgi Hlöðversson and Margrét Ormsdóttir. In 2005 they bought Vatnsholt farm and moved there with their children. With hard work and dedication, they opened Vatnsholt guesthouse in 2010. At that time, they had 14 rooms but today they have expanded to 34 rooms and a restaurant that can accommodate up to 300 guests. Vatnsholt guesthouse prides itself on Icelandic cultural characteristics, closeness to the countryside, nature and wild life and every guest that stays is considered part of their family.  

What is not included in the price:

  • 3 lunches and one dinner
  • Entry in to the Pools and Hot Springs after every ride, and entry into Krauma Hot Spring 
  • Entry into the Sky Lagoon on July 6th
  • lodging on July 6th, the night before the retreat starts

  • Transportation to Reykjavik on July 6th. There is the Flybus available. Transportation back to the airport from Selfoss on July 14th.
