FAQ

Tell me about yoga.

Each day begins with Colleen’s unique “Awakening the Senses” Yoga, a gentle yet invigorating practice inspired by Gyrokinesis, Qigong, and Tai Chi. This practice sets the tone for the day, aligning mind, body, and spirit for the adventures ahead.

Do I have to participate in all the activities?

Not at all! This retreat is all about listening to your body and finding your perfect balance. Whether you join every activity or choose to relax and recharge, we fully support you in creating a retreat that feels right for you.

What is the average age of participants?

We welcome women of all ages, typically ranging from 15 to 75. Every retreat is different, so feel free to contact us if you have specific questions about the group demographics.

What if I’m traveling alone?

Many of our participants come solo! New Zealand is an exceptionally safe and welcoming country for single travelers. English is widely spoken, and we’re here to answer all your travel questions and support you every step of the way. You may arrive alone, but you’ll leave with lifelong friends.

What if I’ve never been to New Zealand?

No worries! Whether this is your first trip or you’ve visited before, you’ll fall in love with our intimate and thoughtfully curated experience. We’ll handle the logistics, meet you at the airport, and be available to guide and assist you throughout your stay.

Am I in good enough shape for the New Zealand retreat?

Most Likely! We adapt to all levels of fitness. You can choose to walk/hike, walk/run, or run. We teach you practical skills for mountain biking—useful for both beginners and experienced riders. We have a variety of trail options for biking, and for walking/hiking/running. Groups are formed according to each woman’s level of fitness, experience, and desire to challenge themselves. We do suggest that you start a training or workout program before you come so that you can get the most out of the retreat. Your training does not need to be a hard-core program…just get out and PLAY and BE ACTIVE several days a week.

What is the average age on this retreat?
We have a wide range of people who attend our retreats, from 15-70 years young. Each retreat will vary. Please contact us if you have questions about the ages on a specific retreat.
