Before you go, be sure to visit the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) website for additional travel tips: TSA Travel Tips

  1. Reusable Water Bottle with Filter: We will have filtered water at Lua Villas but having a water bottle with a built-in filter can be especially handy in Costa Rica. It helps reduce plastic waste and ensures you have access to safe drinking water.

  2. Sandals or Water Shoes: In addition to flip flops, you could pack a pair of sandals or water shoes suitable for activities like walking on rocky shores or exploring tide pools.

  3. Reusable Tote Bag: A foldable, reusable tote bag can come in handy for carrying groceries, souvenirs, or beach essentials during your stay.

  4. Earplugs and Eye Mask: These can be useful for a good night’s sleep, especially if you’re sharing accommodations with others or if you’re sensitive to noise and light.

  5. First Aid Kit: Consider packing a small first aid kit with essentials like adhesive bandages, antiseptic wipes, pain relievers, and any personal medications you might need.

  6. Cash in Local Currency: While credit/debit cards are handy, having some local currency in cash can be useful for small purchases or places that may not accept cards.

  7. Dry Bag: If you plan on taking your phone, camera, or other valuables to the beach or on water excursions, a waterproof dry bag can protect them from water and sand. *We do not recommend taking any valuables to the beach if you are not going to be watching it.

  8. Power Bank: To keep your electronic devices charged for taking photos, staying connected, or using apps during your trip.
  9. Travel Adapter: When living in the United States of America you don’t need a power plug adapter in Costa Rica. Your power plugs fit.
